Are you a person of integrity?
Are you honest?
Do you have strong moral principles?
Are your business dealings ethical and fair?
Can people count on you to be true to your word?
When you say you will do something, do you do it to the best of your ability?
Are your actions consistent with your word?
Do others know how you will respond to situations beforehand?
I am convinced that we need more integrity in our lives today – in our homes, in our workplaces, in our churches, and in our government. We need to be examples for others.
In Matthew 5, 13-16, the Bible tells us to be “salt and light”.
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Salt enriches our food and makes it taste better.
Do we, by our example, positively influence those around us?
Do we work to maintain lasting relationships with others?
Salt melts ice.
Do we allow Christ to use us to help melt cold hearts?
Verse14 tells us that we “are the light of the world.”
Can others see reflections of Christ in us?
Jesus was a man of integrity and I want to be like Him!
